Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)

Oregon Community Programs (OCP) is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our team. As the leading specialized provider of intensive outpatient psychiatric treatment for children and adolescents in the Southern Willamette Valley, OCP offers a range of empirically based behavioral health programs aimed at promoting healing and resilience.

About the position:

We are looking for an experienced PMHNP to provide psychiatric care to children and adolescents ages 3-21 in our intensive outpatient clinic. In this role, you will work collaboratively with a multidimensional treatment team of mental health professionals, case managers, and treatment foster parents to deliver comprehensive and holistic care to our clients. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to clinical excellence, collaboration, and innovation in the field of child and adolescent psychiatry.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct psychiatric evaluations and assessments to determine diagnoses and formulate treatment plans for children and adolescents with mental health concerns.
  • Provide medication management and prescribe appropriate psychotropic medications.
  • Willingness to receive consultation and oversight from consulting Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist, ensuring high-quality care delivery and adherence to best practices.
  • Function as a Licensed Medical Practitioner (LMP) for the agency, authorizing behavioral health services as required and determining the medical necessity of services in individualized treatment plans.
  • Collaborate with the multidimensional treatment team to develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans, incorporating evidence-based practices such as Treatment Foster Care, Parent-Child Interaction Therapy, GenPMTO Parent Management Training, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and other clinical service models.
  • Conduct annual mental health assessments and reassessments as needed, in accordance with relevant regulations and guidelines.

Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree or higher in Nursing from an accredited program.
  • Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) certification.
  • Valid Oregon Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license and DEA registration.
  • Experience working with children and adolescents in a psychiatric setting.
  • Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
Schedule and Location:

OCP’s clinic is located in Eugene, Oregon.  PMHNPs at OCP enjoy flexible scheduling options, ranging from hourly contracted to 1-2 full days per week. The most urgent need is for a full day or two afternoons per week. While in-person availability is preferred, telehealth or hybrid options can be considered to accommodate individual preferences and circumstances.
